WomenGig@Trieste is a monthly music series at
Caffe Trieste in Berkeley, CA, featuring women singer/songwriters
in the alt-folk, pop, rock, and neo-americana traditions.
The shows are on a roving Friday so be sure to join the mailing
list or check back here to see the schedule.
Note to performers: We tend to book out
4-6 months in advance and usually it is bands and musicians that
we are familiar with and who can bring in a good draw. The stage
space is small, but the caffe can have 50-100 folks rotate through
when filled to capacity. Payment is based on tip jar collections.
If you are interested in being considered, please contact
us and provide links to your music and bios. We get many requests
and can't always get back to you right away but we will do our
best.

from the Bay Area in one band? The best and only all-woman blues
band, The Battlin' Bluebirds! Gritty vocals like buttah from Maria
Stanford, Blues guitar virtuoso Jeni Day, professional drum queen
Robin Roth, and legendary bassist Katharine Cole, put the Blast
in Blues every show.

Friends
We welcome back rockin' guitar virtuoso Shelley Doty, who will
invite a few of her friends to join her on stage. Watching her
perform is awe-inspiring due to her masterful guitar licks, soulful
voice and charismatic stage presence. As a songwriter, she creates
articulate songs for today by sprinkling them with respect for
the music of her youth (rock, R&B, jazz, funk). Shelley sings
with passion and plays with an authentic raw energy that cuts
through the air with jubilant imagination and freshness.
